Andy Birthday boy Andy Roddick is sharing 2010 U.S. OpenAndy Roddick turns 28 on Monday, and will commemorate the occasion by playing his first-round match against Frenchman Stephane Robert on the Ashe Stadium court on Monday afternoon. Roddick, the 2003 Open champion, is the last U.S. man to capture a Grand Slam title – the longest American major championship drought in the Open era.

Roddick, seeded No. 9, remains the top American male, and in a summer in which he got knocked out of Wimbledon in the round of 16 and dealt with a mild case of mononucleosis, is rarely mentioned as a serious contender. It is fine by him.

“I don’t pay attention,” he said. “I’ve been in this position before; I’ve been in the other position before. You go out and you try to win a tennis match.”

Pakistani cricketers Pak cricketers just hungry of money, women & food: SpeculatorMazhar Majeed, the speculator or bookie said in a statement that lot of Pakistani cricketers are “just looking for money, women and food”. Majeed, arrested for alleged ‘spot-fixing’ in the England-Pakistan Test.

He said that Pakistan cricketers just hungry of money, women and food and some of them have love for the game.

The bookie who has made sensational claims of bribing Pakistani cricketers for bowling no balls in a sting operation by a British tabloid, claimed a lot of players were only bothered about money.

“You’ll find there’s only a few players who are genuine and who are actually here for the love of the game, and there’s not many believe me. A lot of them are just looking for money, women and food,” said Majeed.

“They’d put it on one side of the ball and the ball would suddenly start in-swinging,” he said.

“I give out the information the night before or morning. What’s going to happen at the end of the fourth day. But now we are not going to do any results for the next two games because we want Salman Butt to be captain long term,” Majeed added.

“Scotland Yard detectives had visited the team hotel where they had taken statements of captain Salman Butt, fast bowlers Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Aamir, and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal,” Pakistan team manager Yawar Saeed said.

The ‘News of the World’ tabloid alleged that a Pakistani man Mazhar Majeed, who is now under arrest, had paid bribes to the players to bowl no-balls and wides in the series and the Lord’s Test.

“No players nor team officials have been arrested in relation to this incident and the fourth Test match will continue as scheduled on Sunday.

“As this is now subject to a police investigation neither ICC, ECB, PCB nor the ground authority, the MCC, will make any further comment,” an ICC statement said.
